Fashion/Beauty Thought of The Day: This is my face, deal with it. While in the process of taking some pictures for another post that I did earlier in the week, I got this close-up shot of a pretty nasty zit that’s been haunting me (and my boyfriend) for the past week. Just about every day my boyfriend has begged me to let him pop it, so that it will stop “staring” at him. Hmph, the nerve. But I realized that his sentiments are probably in line with those of most people. Most women when we get pimples, the first reaction is to try and get rid of it or to hide it with concealer, the truth being that none of those reactions ever really work, nor do they address the cause. I was then reminded of a trip that I made to the MAC counter over the weekend and the very chic sales girl tried her best to sell me some concealer. Then I realized that she was probably offended by my giant pimple. When I realized her motivation I ever so sweetly responded the same way to her that I did to the bf, “this is my face, the world will just have to deal with it…” Breakouts are an indication of something undesirable in your diet and/or some emotional red flag that your body is raising. Prevention starts with addressing the cause, when breakouts occur drink more water and let them live their course it prevents scarring after the fact.
Love yourself girls, eventually everyone else will follow!
